More swings => less damage per swings. Same applies to shooting with bow I guess this makes me question the value of Quickness as an attribute. Correct me if I'm wrong but something you have to spend points to gain to me should always be considered a positive. From this comment, one could say that quickness is actually a curse, as it does not add dps and actually hurts your front load damage which is arguable the most critical in a fight. From an archery perspective there is no benefit. It does not help interrupt (that is going to happen no matter what). I suppose one could make the argument that more swings allow for more chances of melee procs and style effects to go off but this does nothing for Archery...and does that increased chance actually offset the loss in damage per swing? I dunno, something 'seems' wrong with this approach. It would seem that quickness should increase your swings or shots but not decrease the 'per hit' of the weapon. Maybe it is and has always been that way? .... but it seems incorrect and counter intuitive.

It also increases the chance to miss and to land a critical strike. It also increases the chance to block/parry/evade for the defender, although it is harder to land a reactionary style if the attackers lands multiple hits between the defender's attacks. Low quickness increases the chance to hit the damage cap, while high quickness can make you avoid hitting the damage cap. It is better to attack a high AF target with low quickness as you will not hit the damage cap, while low AF targets are more likely to take capped damage, so it is better to attack faster against low AF targets. High attack speed can also mean more interrupts. High attack speed is also better against bubbled target (self and pulsing bubbles). Lower quickness on archery with the use of Rapid Fire is also better although it will make you waste endurance. The question is whether quickness is supposed to be counted the same way as haste or celerity in terms of damages. Haste increases your swing speed while keeping DPS the same hence lowering damage per hit. Celerity increases your swing speed while keeping your damage per hit the same hence increasing DPS. Celerity>Haste So how is quickness supposed to impact DPS, lower it (haste) or increase it (celerity). At the moment quickness has the haste effect on DPS. For a human being, taking longer to hit something does not necessarily mean hitting harder. An individual who is deft does not mean he is less strong than another. Realistically having more quickness should not lower damage per hit, all else equal. What is the difference between haste and celerity in essence? The definitions: Haste: to hurry something Celerity: To be swift in your movements The definition of quickness is ambiguous: The quality of moving fast or doing something in a short time. It seems to fit both haste and celerity. Archery in real life: if you are able to fully load your bow faster it does not mean that you will hit with less power as the bow as been fully loaded with potential power whether you do it quickly or not. But it has to be tested on Pendragon, isolating the quickness bonus, taking into account damage variance. For best results, use a high level character on Albion (scout): Inconnu/Highlander with +0 quickness and +0 dex Saracen/Briton with +150 quickness and +75 dex Reminder to Self:Quality over Quantity, what is the Value here?

Nowadays the casting (which is what you do now on live with a bow) speed is only dependend on dex. The Thundra style compaired with no quick showed something is broken with the dmg calculation on this server. Hard to say what it is, so let's just say it's working as intended. Just so we are clear, it does have an influence. It lowers the damage per shot.
